PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  SORRY, WALK-INS ON-SITE ARE NOT ALLOWED.

We are continuing our Fall Forest Series at Turkey Run Park at The Parklands at Floyds Fork.  The starting location is at the Brown Forman Silo Center.  Courses will be standard point to point orienteering courses.

COURSES OFFERED:

YELLOW (advance beginner)  2.7km long - 105m of climb

ORANGE (intermediate)  3.5 km long - 155m of climb

BROWN (advance short)  4.4 km long - 185m of climb

GREEN (advance medium)  6.2 km long - 255m of climb

RED (advance long)  7.1 km long - 305m of climb

There will also be a Practice Beginner Course that is less than 1 km.

TIMES (all EST):

9:30 AM - Free Beginner's Clinic - limited to 9 persons - please register for the clinic on the registration page.

 

10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon - Start Windows - There are 5 start windows that you can choose from on the registration page.  The exact time of your start time in that window will be emailed to you on Thursday, October 22nd after 7:00 PM.  These will be, at minimum, in one minute increments.  We will do our best to honor the window that you requested.  Preference will be given to those in the order that they registered.  Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your start time to collect your map and fingerstick.  This is to help space participants out to comply with the conditions of our permit from The Parklands.  This set-up will be typical for our events from here on out during COVID-19.

                Window #1:  10:00 - 10:15 AM

                Window #2:  10:16 - 10:30 AM

                Window #3:  10:31 - 11:00 AM

                Window #4:  11:01 - 11:30 AM

                Window #5:  11:31 - 12:00 Noon

2:00 PM  - Courses Close and Control Pick-up StartsEveryone must return and check-in by this time.  This would be a great opportunity for additional practice of orienteering skills by helping pick-up controls.  Please see the meet director to volunteer.  Extra hands will make the work go quickly.

COST:

$10.00 and includes one map and one loaner sanitized fingerstick (if needed).

$3.00 for an extra map.

All must be paid through the registration page.  No money will be collected on-site.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES:

We are required to follow the conditions outlined below per our application for the permit with:

  • The Parklands event permit

  • Keep Kentucky Healthy Application with the Governor's Office

  • Orienteering USA's COVID-19 Guidelines and Insurance Requirements

The wear a mask rule applies to when participants are in the event area, prior to and after orienteering.  You may remove your mask for running, hiking and orienteering in the forest.
